8pm-midnight Learn Eclipse w/ Trevor Schadt

Maximum players: 6 Minimum age 14 Eclipse places you in control of a vast interstellar civilization, competing for success with its rivals. You will explore new star systems, research technologies, and build spaceships to wage war with. There are many potential paths to victory, so you need to plan your strategy according to the strengths and weaknesses of your species, while paying attention to the other civilizations' endeavors.

Midnight or later: Game Room Closes

The Game Room will close no earlier than midnight. If Game Room staff are available to keep the room open, the room will stay open as long as staff are available.

Saturday

9AM Game Room Opens

10AM-Noon Learn Evolution w/ Trevor Schadt

Maximum players: 6 Minimum age 10 In Evolution, players adapt their species in a dynamic ecosystem where food is scarce and predators lurk. Traits like Hard Shell and Horns will protect your species from Carnivores, while a Long Neck will help them get food that others cannot reach. With over 4,000 ways to evolve your species, every game becomes a different adventure.

Noon-2PM Learn Progress: Evolution of Technology w/ Trevor Schadt

Maximum players: 5 Minimum age 12 Progress: Evolution of Technology is a card game about researching technologies. Each player takes his civilization from early antiquity and learns various technologies, moving progressively to the Middle Ages, the Industrial Revolution, and Modern Times and ending with today's Internet or Social Welfare. Unlike other civilization games, Progress focuses on a single aspect of civilization building: researching technologies that help a society advance.

2PM-4PM Concardia Teaching Game

You've collected some cards in the scavenger hunt, now learn how to play the game. Don't have your deck yet? It's not too late! The inventor of Concardia will give a rules explanation and strategy tips, and sign up any newcomers.

3PM-6PM Learn Caverna w/ Trevor Schadt

Maximum players: 5 Minimum age 12 Following along the same lines as its predecessor (Agricola), Caverna: The Cave Farmers is a worker-placement game at heart, with a focus on farming. In the game, you are the bearded leader of a small dwarf family that lives in a little cave in the mountains. You begin the game with a farmer and his spouse, and each member of the farming family represents an action that the player can take each turn. Together, you cultivate the forest in front of your cave and dig deeper into the mountain. You furnish the caves as dwellings for your offspring as well as working spaces for small enterprises. (Note: Caverna can accommodate a maximum of 7 players, but since this is a teaching game, we are limiting the number of players to 5.)

8PM-Midnight: Learn Myth w/ Trevor Schadt

Maximum players: 5 Minimum age 12 Myth is a fully co-operative fantasy game. Players take on the role of one of 5 different heroes working together to defeat the Darkness. Each hero has a different skill set which represented by a unique deck of cards. Players must budget their actions carefully, lest they rouse the Darkness, which will try and stop them with waves of minions, captains, and eventually even worse. Myth is organized into Chapters (single encounters), Acts (short sequences of linked encounters) and Stories (3 Acts that comprise a coherent story). We will be playing one Act.

8PM-11PM Fiasco w/ Carl Rauscher

Maximum players: 6 Minimum age 13 Fiasco is inspired by cinematic tales of small time capers gone disastrously wrong - inspired by films like Blood Simple, Fargo, The Way of the Gun, Burn After Reading, and A Simple Plan. You'll play ordinary people with powerful ambition and poor impulse control. There will be big dreams and flawed execution. It won't go well for them, to put it mildly, and in the end it will probably all go south in a glorious heap of jealousy, murder, and recrimination. Warning: stories may involve mature subject matter.

Midnight or later: Game Room Closes

Sunday

10AM-11:30AM Learn Dazzle w/ Charles Butler

Maximum players: 6 Minimum age 12 A polygonal matching game where strategy is the key. 30 tiles of 3 colors make a lively game for up to 6.
